Giving Thanks

It took me a while to really dig deep inside myself to compile a list of what I am thankful for. Here it is:
1. My Freedoms. Of expression. Of choice. To learn. To have a voice.
2. Other people's freedoms. The fact that they have these freedoms really produces great things. I think about all the good books/poems/stories I've read, or the music I've heard and I thank whoever's up there that our world is forever changing and spitting out so many new things.

3. Change in general. Not only for change in a society/culture, but also for individual change. I look back on what I was like a few years ago and I am so glad I am not that way anymore.

4. My grandmother. I talk about this woman so much. I write so much about her/for her. No amount of poetry will ever add up to how much I adore this woman. One day I will put everything I've ever written about her in a book, have it translated into Polish, and give it to her.
5. The fact that my hair grows really fast. I will never get bored of a hairstyle. It's great. I cut my hair and the next day it's already different!

and lastly..

6. Ms. Strout and anyone that I've come in contact with in CW and CWW. You're the reason for my changing. I can see myself coming to any of you for advice, moral support, or a hug. I like you guys so much, seriously.

Beautifully expressed, lady. We are thankful for you right back. ;) Your grandmother is so lucky to have such a unique and thoughtful individual in her life. I hope the long weekend treated you well. See you tomorrow!
